Surface magnetic reconstruction

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1995
Abstract The phenomenon of surface magnetic reconstruction (i.e. a different orientation of the surface spins with respect to the bulk ones) is overviewed in the framework of mean-field theory as an area-preserving map, where the surfaces are introduced as appropriate boundary conditions. In this way, the nonuniform ground state both of semi-infinite

Ocular Surface Reconstruction

Techniques in Ophthalmology, 2009
The most difficult part in ocular surface reconstruction for total limbal stem cell deficiency is restoring a healthy and stable corneal epithelium. Recently, there has been a shift toward a cellular-based transplantation that eliminates the need for harvesting large amounts of limbal tissues from a living donor.

Semiconductor surface reconstruction

Vacuum, 1983
Abstract A review of the current state of our understanding of some semiconductor surface reconstructions is given. These include the GaAs(110) surface and the (100) and (111) surfaces of Si and Ge. The strong correlation between atomic and electronic structure and the energies involved in structural rearrangements at the surface are discussed.

Parallel Surface Reconstruction

2002
The task of surface reconstruction is to find a mathematical representation of a surface which is given only by a set of discrete sampling points. The mathematical description in the computer allows to save or transfer the geometric data via internet, to manipulate (e.g.

Ocular surface reconstruction

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2013
AbstractThe ocular surface is a highly specialised environment with complex homeostatic mechanisms. Severe ocular surface disease can cause significant morbidity through recurrent epithelial breakdown, predisposition to infection and blindness. Ocular surface reconstruction (OSR) strategies aim to restore sufficient ocular surface function to permit ...

Evolutionary surface reconstruction

2008 Conference on Human System Interactions, 2008
We propose a novel technique for surface reconstruction from a point cloud in 3D. The aim is to combine evolutionary algorithms with a recursive subdivision scheme. The algorithm starts from a base population where each individual represents an n-level surface approximation of an input object.

Variational surface reconstruction

2016
The demand for capturing 3D models of real world objects or scenes has steadily increased in the past. Today, there are numerous developments that indicate an even greater importance in the future: Computer generated special effects are extensively used and highly benefit from such data, 3D printing is starting to become more affordable, and the ...
