Total pollution effect of urban surface runoff
Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2009For pollution research with regard to urban surface runoff, most sampling strategies to date have focused on differences in land usage. With single land-use sampling, total surface runoff pollution effect cannot be evaluated unless every land usage spot is monitored.

Metolachlor Transport in Surface Runoff
Journal of Environmental Quality, 1990AbstractIn 1987 metolachlor [2‐chloro‐N‐(2‐ethyl‐6‐methylphenyl)‐N‐(2‐methoxy‐1‐methylethyl) acetamide] was applied to a 5.5‐ha corn field in southern Ontario, Canada, in two separate areas—as a preemergence surface spray with cross‐contour plowing and as a pre‐plant incorporated treatment with contour plowing.

1982
A mathematical model of surface runoff is presented which is of use in building a model of erosion processes. The method used for deriving the conceptual model of surface runoff is based on the mathematical expression of the basic laws of movement of water -- the equation of continuity and the equation of motion.

Runoff Temperature Model for Paved Surfaces
Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, 2009Interest in thermal pollution due to storm-water runoff has risen significantly since it was recognized that fish habitat in coldwater streams may deteriorate or even disappear following urban development or logging. The need to project changes in both runoff temperature and volume in response to land use changes has been recognized.

Some relationships between slope‐length, surface‐runoff, and the silt‐load of surface‐runoff
Eos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 1935The problem of slope‐length as it affects surface‐runoff and silt‐load has a number of interesting phases. These are related to the fundamental laws of hydrology as well as the practical control of surface‐runoff. It has often been assumed that both the percentage of runoff and the total erosion are greater on long than on short slopes.
