Mechanism analysis of surface structure-regulated Cu2O in photocatalytic antibacterial process.

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2023
The effects of exposing crystal planes and vacancy defect engineering can induce unique surface atom arrangements that strongly influence the physicochemical properties of semiconductor materials. This paper used Cu2O with different surface structures as

Understanding lanthanum oxide surface structure by DFT simulation of oxygen 1s calibrated binding energy in XPS after in situ treatment

Applications of Surface Science, 2021
Lanthanum oxide (La2O3) is a promising catalyst for the oxidative coupling of methane (OCM). Our recent work provided a detailed XPS characterization results of La2O3 after in situ interaction with OCM related species, including CO2 and H2O.

Tribo-induced surface structure of Nickel-based superalloy at elevated temperature

Applications of Surface Science, 2022
An in-depth understanding of the tribo-induced surface structure and its correlation with friction and wear performance is a prerequisite towards controlling the friction and wear properties of materials at high temperature. Dry sliding ball-on-disc wear

CO gas sensors based on p-type CuO nanotubes and CuO nanocubes: Morphology and surface structure effects on the sensing performance.

Talanta: The International Journal of Pure and Applied Analytical Chemistry, 2018
Metal oxide nanomaterials have been widely applied in the high-performance gas sensors. For metal oxide semiconductors, high surface-to-volume ratio and the exposed crystal facets are the two key factors for determining their gas sensing performances. In

Surface Electronic Structure

Reports on Progress in Physics, 1982
The theory of the electronic structure of clean metal and semiconductor surfaces is reviewed, starting from an effective one-electron Schrodinger equation. Methods for solving the Schrodinger equation at surfaces are briefly described, and the effects of the surface on the electronic wavefunctions are discussed using simple models.

Experimental study on seismic response of underground tunnel-soil-surface structure interaction system

Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, 2018
More and more projects of underground structures undercrossing adjacent surface structures have emerged in recent years. The existence of underground structure influences the propagation of seismic wave, and the inertia effect of the surface structure ...

Synchronous Tailoring Surface Structure and Chemical Composition of Li‐Rich–Layered Oxide for High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

Advanced Functional Materials, 2018
Li‐rich–layered oxide is considered to be one of the most promising cathode materials for high‐energy lithium ion batteries. However, it suffers from poor rate capability, capacity loss, and voltage decay upon cycling that limits its utilization in ...

Superwetting of Structured Surfaces

Langmuir, 2007
Superwetting of structured surfaces, sometimes referred to as hemi-wicking, was studied both experimentally and theoretically. Structured substrates with regular arrays of square pillars or frustra were machined from graphite blocks and then treated to render them lyophilic. Liquids spread over these surfaces to produce noncircular wetting areas.

Bioinspired Structured Surfaces

Langmuir, 2012
Nature has evolved objects with desired functionality using commonly found materials. Nature capitalizes on hierarchical structures to achieve functionality. The understanding of the functions provided by objects and processes found in nature can guide us to produce nanomaterials, nanodevices, and processes with desirable functionality. Various natural
