An Integrated Interferometric Fiber Optic Sensor Using a 638 nm Semiconductor Laser for Air-Water Surface Velocity Measurements [PDF]
An integrated interferometric fiber optic velocimetry sensor has been proposed and demonstrated at the central wavelength of 638 nm. The sensor is based on the principle of two laser-beams’ interference.

Assessment of a Smartphone App for Open Channel Flow Measurement in Data Scarce Irrigation Schemes
Accurate water flow measurement ensures proper irrigation water management by allocating the desired amount of water to the irrigation fields. The present study evaluated whether the non-intrusive smartphone application “DischargeApp” could be applicable

River Flow Measurements Utilizing UAV-Based Surface Velocimetry and Bathymetry Coupled with Sonar
Water velocity and discharge are essential parameters for monitoring water resources sustainably. Datasets acquired from Unoccupied Aerial Systems (UAS) allow for river monitoring at high spatial and temporal resolution, and may be the only alternative ...

Velocity slip on curved surfaces [PDF]
The Navier boundary condition for velocity slip on flat surfaces, when expressed in tensor form, is readily extended to surfaces of any shape. We test this assertion using molecular dynamics simulations of flow in channels with flat and curved walls and for rotating cylinders and spheres, all for a wide range of solid-liquid interaction strengths.

Velocity Increment on Incidence Angle near the Leading Edge of the Compressor Cascade
The geometry of a compressor leading edge has an important effect on the aerodynamic performance at an off-designed incidence angle. The current geometric design methods of the leading edge are usually developed based on the flow characteristics at the ...
