Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Controlling surface waves with temporal discontinuities of metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2023
Static reactive metasurfaces allow excitation and propagation of surface waves. In this paper, we theoretically elucidate how surface-wave propagation along a reactive boundary is affected by temporal discontinuities of effective parameters ...

Surface density of states of s+-wave Cooper pairs in a two-band model

open access: yes, 2009
We calculate surface density of state (SDOS) of s+-wave Cooper pair in two-band superconductor model, where gap functions have different signs between two bands.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Tunable and unconventional Fermi arcs of two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenide modulated photonic Dirac semimetal

open access: yesNanophotonics
Fermi arcs are nontrivial surface states that exist in topological semimetals, which exhibit a variety of interesting effects, such as anomalous transport properties and chiral anomaly induced phenomena.

Negative refraction in twisted hyperbolic metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
Hyperbolic metasurfaces with unique dispersion properties can manipulate light–matter interactions according to the demands. However, due to their inherent physical properties, topological transitions (flat bands) exist only in the orthogonal directions,
