Polarization Sensitivity of Chiral Manganese Halide Scintillators Enables High‐Resolution X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly luminescent chiral manganese halide crystals are synthesized using chiral ligands, and they exhibit dissymmetry factors up to 1.4 × 10−2 and show X‐ray detection scintillation capability with a light yield of 43 380 photons/MeV and a low detection limit of 0.05198 µGyair·s−1.

Hunga‐Tonga Volcano Plumbing System Inferred From Virtual Seismometer Approach

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems
We present a surface wave tomography application based on event‐pair interferometry to investigate local (∼100 km) mid‐ocean crustal structures, with a particular focus on imaging a potential crustal solidified intrusive complex in a region lacking ...

Charge Generation and Recombination Pathways in All‐Polymer Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal spectroscopy and device analysis reveal how field‐dependent charge generation, transport limitations, and non‐geminate recombination govern performance losses in all polymer solar cells. The results identify the key processes controlling charge extraction and recombination, providing insights for the design of more efficient all‐polymer ...

Focused Mantle Upwelling Beneath the Southeastern Asian Basalt Province Revealed by Seismic Surface Wave Tomography

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Following the termination of seafloor spreading in the South China Sea (SCS) basin, abundant intraplate volcanism widely spreads in the Indochina block, SCS basin, and Leiqiong area, forming the Southeastern Asian Basalt Province (SABP).

Si‐Doped Nanocrystalline Diamond as Highly Sensitive Luminescence Thermometer for the Physiological Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

Catalytically Enhanced Near Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensing Using Pd‐ZnO Colloidal Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pd‐decorated ZnO colloidal crystal monolayers demonstrate excellent performance across a wide hydrogen concentration range at 33°C, with high selectivity and reproducible device fabrication. The sensors show strong responses even at low‐ppm H2 concentrations and an ultra‐low detection limit of 82 ppb, indicating their suitability for diverse hydrogen ...

A reappraisal of regional surface wave tomography

open access: yesA reappraisal of regional surface wave tomography
A three-stage inversion scheme for surface wave tomography working with multimode phase dispersion as a function of frequency provides a means of combining a wide range of data in a common framework. The phase average approximation is applied directly to phase slowness and there is no need to invoke perturbation arguments for the interpretation of path-

Automated surface wave dispersion measurements and surface wave tomography of central and northern Europe

open access: yes, 2015
We automated the inter-station method. The method automatically selects smooth parts of phase velocity dispersion curves for all the events in one inter-station path, an average dispersion curve is obtained for each inter-station path after statistical analysis of individual measurements.

Dopant Distribution in Ga‐Implanted CdO—A Correlative Microscopy and Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that ion implantation offset angle could modulate carrier concentration and mobility in cadmium oxide thin films. Combining correlative microscopy workflow and molecular dynamics simulations, this study reveals the control of interfacial cluster density with tailoring implantation angles, and the optimum offset angle that ...
