The implementation of sinusoidal PWM on single phase 5-level cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter [PDF]
In the new millennium era of technology, modern industrial devices are mostly based on electronic devices that are very sensitive to harmonics. The needs for a free-harmonics and high rating power source is extremely increased in the past few years ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Are rogue waves really unexpected?
An unexpected wave is defined by Gemmrich & Garrett (2008) as a wave that is much taller than a set of neighboring waves. Their definition of "unexpected" refers to a wave that is not anticipated by a casual observer. Clearly, unexpected waves defined in

Quasi-geostrophic modes in the Earth's fluid core with an outer stably stratified layer [PDF]
Seismic waves sensitive to the outermost part of the Earth's liquid core seem to be affected by a stably stratified layer at the core-mantle boundary.

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Understanding liquid-jet atomization cascades via vortex dynamics [PDF]
Temporal instabilities of a planar liquid jet are studied using direct numerical simulation (DNS) of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with level-set (LS) and volume-of-fluid (VoF) surface tracking methods.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Influence of frozen capillary waves on contact mechanics
Free surfaces of liquids exhibit thermally excited (capillary) surface waves. We show that the surface roughness which results from capillary waves when a glassy material is cooled below the glass transition temperature can have a large influence on the ...

Time-Reversal of Nonlinear Waves - Applicability and Limitations [PDF]
Time-reversal (TR) refocusing of waves is one of fundamental principles in wave physics. Using the TR approach, "Time-reversal mirrors" can physically create a time-reversed wave that exactly refocus back, in space and time, to its original source ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting
