Adsorption behaviour of oxyethylated anionic surfactants 2. Adsorption kinetics

Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1998
Abstract The adsorption kinetics of anionic surfactants containing one to three oxyethylene groups have been studied at the water/air interface by measuring the dynamic surface tensions using maximum bubble pressure and drop volume tensiometry.

Adsorption of ionic surfactants on charged solids. Adsorption models

Colloids and Surfaces, 1986
Abstract A recently proposed model for the adsorption of weak organic electrolytes at a charged solid—aqueous solution interface is briefly reviewed. The implications of using the model to describe surfactant adsorption are discussed. Experimental verification of the model, based on the adsorption results of dodecylammonium bromide on a pyrogenic ...

Adsorption of surfactants on low-charged layer silicates Part II: Adsorption of non-ionic surfactants

Colloid and Polymer Science, 1994
Cationic surfactants are adsorbed in double layers on low-charged layer silicates. The amount adsorbed is determined by the swelling capacity of the layer silicates and the structure of the cationic surfactant. The swelling ability of the surfactant-layer silicate complex correlates with model concepts assuming densely packed pseudotriple layers ...

Phase Transition Processes in Surfactant Adsorption Layers

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2000
Adsorption data in the form of surface tension vs bulk concentration isotherms having strong changes in the slope have often been discussed in the literature in terms of phase transitions in the adsorption layer. It will be shown thermodynamically that these apparent kink points in the isotherms are unreal.

Adsorption behavior of oil-displacing surfactant at oil/water interface: Molecular simulation and experimental

, 2020
In alkaline-surfactant-polymer flooding processes, the adsorption of residual surfactants in the oil/water interface significantly affected the emulsification and stabilization of produced water.

Adsorption of Surfactants

1992
One of the most striking physicochemical characteristics of surfactants is their ability to reduce interfacial tension at low concentration. Surface-active agents are defined by this property. Unlike surfactants, inorganic salts increase the interfacial tension.

Adsorption of surfactants on microbiologies

Chemosphere, 1984
Abstract Adsorption isotherms of 5 priority surfactants on microbiologies were obtained. The sources and the conditions of microbiologies were little influenced on the adsorption, except in endogenous state. The employed surfactants were ready to adsorb in the order of AE>APE>LAS>AES>AOS.

Adsorption of surfactants onto kaolin

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 1989
In support of an enhanced oil-recovery programme, surfactant adsorption by kaolin and silica from aqueous solution has been studied as a function of several parameters. The resulting isotherms show four distinct steps which are interpreted in terms of different modes of adsorption.

Surfactant adsorption from aqueous solutions

Pigment & Resin Technology, 1972
Dispersant and surfactant additives, although used in minor amounts, exert a major influence in latex paints, controlling, for example, long‐term and freeze‐thaw stability in the can, application properties, and the opacity, gloss, and scrub resistance of the dry film.
