Potential of Palm Kernel Alkanolamide Surfactant for Enhancing Oil Recovery from Sandstone Reservoir Rocks

open access: yesEnvironment and Natural Resources Journal, 2020
The interest in using benign surfactants has been steadily increasing in the context of enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Palmkernel alkanolamide surfactant (PKA), a nonionic surfactant synthesized from palm kernel oil, was preliminarily ...

Adsorption of Methylene Blue in Water onto Activated Carbon by Surfactant Modification

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, the enhanced adsorption of methylene blue (MB) dye ion on the activated carbon (AC) modified by three surfactants in aqueous solution was researched.

Mixed adsorption of hexadecylpyridinium bromide and Triton X surfactants at graphitized carbon black [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2020
Adsorption of cationic 1-hexadecylpyridinium bromide (HDPB) and non-ionic p-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)-phenoxypolyoxyethylene glycols surfactants of the Triton X series (Triton X-45, Triton X-100 and Triton X-305) from their single and mixed aqueous ...

Surfactants with colloids: Adsorption or absorption? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2015
The interaction of Aerosol OT (AOT) surfactant with systems of model colloids in nonaqueous solvents (water-in-oil microemulsions, surfactant-stabilized silica organosols, and sterically-stabilized PMMA latexes) is expected to be system specific.

Experimental study of substrate roughness and surfactant effects on the Landau-Levich law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this work we present an experimental study of deviations from the classical Landau-Levich law in the problem of dip coating. Among the examined causes leading to deviations are the nature of the liquid-gas and liquid-solid interfaces. The thickness of

Sustainable CO2 adsorbents prepared by coating chitosan onto mesoporous silicas for large-scale carbon capture technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this article, we report a new sustainable synthesis procedure for manufacturing chitosan/silica CO2 adsorbents. Chitosan is a naturally abundant material and contains amine functionality, which is essential for selective CO2 adsorptions.

Cooperative effects in surfactant adsorption layers at water/alkane interfaces

open access: yes, 2019
In the present work, the properties of dodecyl dimethyl phosphine oxide (C12DMPO) at the water/decane interface are studied and compared with those obtained earlier at the interface to hexane.

Effects of Surfactant Solubility on the Hydrodynamics of a Viscous Drop in a DC Electric Field

open access: yes, 2020
The physico-chemistry of surfactants (amphiphilic surface active agents) is often used to control the dynamics of viscous drops and bubbles. Surfactant sorption kinetics has been shown to play a critical role in the deformation of drops in extensional ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
