Computer-Assisted Robotic Antireflux Surgery
Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, 2002Antireflux surgery has evolved significantly since its inception 50 years ago. The current standard is laparoscopic fundoplication. The computer-assisted telemanipulator, a new device recently approved for use in laparoscopy, reduces some of the shortcomings of the laparoscopic approach.

The term "computer-assisted surgery" (CAS) contains a variety of different applications. Priorities in trauma surgery have navigation systems. In fact, two basically different developments can be distinguished: on one hand, the possibility of navigation, based on preoperative CT data sets; and on the other hand navigation in intraoperative C-arm images.

Safety in Computer Assisted Surgery
2001Today, surgeons accept computer assisted technologies as important tools to enhance the treatment of a patient. The positive impact and acceptance of computer assisted technologies could be increased to a great extent, if all methods and devices used for diagnosis and treatment of a patient are better co-ordinated and more finely tuned.

Computer-assisted stereotaxic surgery
Images of the Twenty-First Century. Proceedings of the Annual International Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2003A set of software image processing tools is being developed to assist in stereotaxic implantation and biopsy procedures. They allow merging of computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and anatomic atlas images into a single database; reformatting of the merged image into arbitrary planes; and interactive display of these reformatted images ...
