Agreement of surgical blood loss estimation methods
Transfusion, 2018BACKGROUND Surgical blood loss is usually estimated by different formulae in studies of strategies aimed at reducing perioperative bleeding. This study assessed and compared the agreement of the main blood loss estimation formulae using a direct measurement of blood loss as the reference method.

EFFECT OF ADRENOXYL ON BLOOD LOSS FROM SURGICAL WOUNDS
Archives of Surgery, 1949IT WAS demonstrated by W. B. Cannon1in 1914 that intravenous or subcutaneous injection of small amounts of epinephrine would shorten the coagulation time of blood by one half to two thirds. He also observed that after large doses of epinephrine there was first a lengthening and later a shortening of coagulation time.

Local Tranexamic Acid Reduces Surgical Blood Loss
Wounds : a compendium of clinical research and practice, 2022Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a synthetic lysine analog that reduces perioperative blood loss by blocking lysine-binding sites on plasminogen molecules. It has been reported to be effective in limiting blood loss and transfusion needs in various orthopedic surgeries and for pediatric patients at high risk of blood loss.1,2 Randomized controlled trials (RCTs)

Bleeding Time and Surgical Blood Losses in Nonhemorrhagic People
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1969Summary1. Discussion of various clinical trials upon the hemostatic properties of adrenochrome derivatives suggest a possible correlation between bleeding time and hemostatic plug resistance.2. It is hoped that this hypothesis will result in new experiments in man and in laboratory animal which might improve general non-specific hemostatic therapy ...
