Aerodynamic Force and Flow Structures of Two Airfoils in Flapping Motions [PDF]
Aerodynamic force and flow structures of two airfoils in tandem configuration performing flapping motions are studied, using the method of solving the Navier-Stokes equations in moving overset grids. Three typical phase differences between the fore- and aft-airfoil flapping cycles are considered.

Subunit Principle of Vulvar Reconstruction: Algorithm and Outcomes
Background Vulvar defects result chiefly from oncologic resection of vulvar tumors. Reconstruction of vulvar defects restores form and function for the purpose of coitus, micturition, and defecation. Many surgical options exist for vulvar reconstruction.

On the forced flow around a flapping foil [PDF]
The two dimensional incompressible viscous flow past a flapping foil immersed in a uniform stream is studied numerically. Numerical simulations were performed using a Lattice-Boltzmann model for moderate Reynolds numbers. The computation of the hydrodynamic force on the foil is related to the the wake structure. In particular, when the foil's centre of

Repair of myelomeningocele using autologous amnion graft and local flaps. A report of two cases
Summary: We describe two cases where autologous amnion grafts were used to cover the neurosurgical repair of myelomeningocele (MMC) and the reconstructive flaps used for the skin defects.MMC is a severe fetal defect that evolves during embryonic ...

Aerodynamic Loads Alteration by Gurney Flap on Supercritical Airfoils at Transonic Speeds [PDF]
Effects of a gurney flap were numerically investigated on the supercritical NASA airfoil by solving the two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for a range of transonic Mach numbers and angles of attack, using turbulence compressible KW SST model. The height of the gurney flap was selected to be 1.65 percent chord length.

Background: Despite being considered the golden standard for nasal reconstruction for decades, there has been a lack of detailed investigation into the hemodynamic differences between bilateral supratrochlear vessels during forehead flap procedures.

Enhancing Thrust in Flapping Airfoils Through Wake Interactions with Oscillating Cylinder [PDF]
Inspired by the natural motion of insects, fish, and other animals, flapping airfoils have gained significant importance due to their applications in fields such as ship propulsion, micro aerial vehicles, and autonomous underwater vehicles. Over the past two decades, extensive research has focused on understanding the dynamics of these airfoils, their ...
