Repair of myelomeningocele using autologous amnion graft and local flaps. A report of two cases

open access: yesJPRAS Open, 2018
Summary: We describe two cases where autologous amnion grafts were used to cover the neurosurgical repair of myelomeningocele (MMC) and the reconstructive flaps used for the skin defects.MMC is a severe fetal defect that evolves during embryonic ...

Aerodynamic Loads Alteration by Gurney Flap on Supercritical Airfoils at Transonic Speeds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Effects of a gurney flap were numerically investigated on the supercritical NASA airfoil by solving the two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for a range of transonic Mach numbers and angles of attack, using turbulence compressible KW SST model. The height of the gurney flap was selected to be 1.65 percent chord length.

The mucosal released‐coronally advanced flap: A novel surgical approach—A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The coronally advanced flap (CAF) can be a predictable surgical technique for the treatment of gingival recessions. However, the characteristics of the defect (e.g., limited amount of keratinized gingiva or flap tension, etc.) may limit the use of the CAF with a possible requirement of additional surgical interventions (i.e., the ...

The wingspan suspension approach: A modified semilunar technique for multiple areas of recession

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Gingival recession can be considered an undesirable condition that results in the exposure of the root surface. There are many techniques that can be employed to address gingival recession; however, they frequently involve a second surgical site.

Elbow Reconstruction Using Island Flap for Burn Patients [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Plastic Surgery, 2012
BackgroundDeep burns of the elbow lead to soft tissue necrosis and infection, with exposure of deep structures. Adequate wound coverage of this area requires thin, pliable, and durable tissue, while optimal functional recovery requires early coverage and

A clinical dilemma: Performing or avoiding root instrumentation in the treatment of the acute phase of endodontic‐periodontal lesions? A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study presents the diagnois, management, and tissue response to an acute periodontal lesion with deep pocketing affecting a maxillary central incisor in a young patient devoid of caries or a history of periodontitis. Methods Clinical and radiographic examinations facilitated the diagnosis of the pathology as an endoperiodontal ...

V‐NeuroStack: Open‐source 3D time stack software for identifying patterns in neuronal data

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience Research, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 217-231, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Understanding functional correlations between the activities of neuron populations is vital for the analysis of neuronal networks. Analyzing large‐scale neuroimaging data obtained from hundreds of neurons simultaneously poses significant visualization challenges.
