Energy Harvesting from CO2 Emission Exploiting Ionic Liquid‐Based Electrochemical Capacitor

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The concept proposes energy harvesting from CO2 emissions using ionic liquids (IL)‐based supercapacitor. By alternating CO2 and N2 gasses during electrode charging/discharging, the energy from salinity gradients is captured. ILs absorb CO2, altering electrode/IL interactions and generating electrical energy. This method introduces for the first time an

Enhancing Stability of Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells via Buried Interface Modification Using In‐Situ Crosslinked Thiol‐Ene Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Two crosslinkable molecules are introduced into the buried interface of perovskite to regulate the interfacial contact between [2‐(3,6‐dimethoxy‐9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)ethyl]phosphonic acid and perovskite. The cross‐linked interfacial layer can control the crystallization process of the perovskite thin film and adjust the energy level alignment.

Suppressed Thermal Conductivity in van der Waals Semiconductor SnS2 by Stacking Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Achieving low thermal conductivity is crucial for materials used for thermoelectric energy conversion. It is demonstrated that the lattice thermal conductivity of van der Waals semiconductor SnS2 can be significantly reduced by introducing 2H and 4H structures stacked along the c‐axis.

Bulk and Surface Reactivity of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 in Contact with (Acidic) Water

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The comprehensive investigation of the influence of (acidic) water on LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 as cobalt‐free lithium‐ion battery cathode material reveals that such treatment particularly affects a very thin layer at the particle surface, while the bulk material remains unaffected.
