Same‐Day Discharge After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: Who, When, and How?

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The burden of severe aortic stenosis requiring treatment is growing due to ageing populations. This places increased demands on health resources due to the growing number of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures and hospital bed occupancy.

Catheter Thrombectomy of Massive Pulmonary Embolism Secondary to Spongostan Embolisation: A Case Report

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Novel adjuvant hemostatic agents are increasingly used in surgical procedures to achieve hemostasis. We present a case of embolisation of hemostatic agents during a neurosurgical operation, causing massive PE requiring venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support, in a 7‐year‐old boy.

Percutaneous Transaxillary Access for Large‐Bore Cardiovascular Interventions: Evidence, Technique, and Complication Management

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Percutaneous transaxillary access is an established alternative to transfemoral large‐bore arterial access for transcatheter structural heart interventions and mechanical circulatory support (MCS). Although useful for overcoming hostile iliofemoral anatomy and providing prolonged support and patient mobilization in case of MCS, the axillary ...

Sheath‐to‐Artery Diameter Ratio: A Robust Predictor of Early Access‐Site Adverse Events in Percutaneous Procedures

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Vascular access site complications (VASCs) remain an important source of morbidity following percutaneous interventions. Although the sheath‐to‐femoral artery ratio is a recognized risk factor in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), its role across a broader range of femoral procedures is less well defined.

Halogenated Tryptophans Improve Integrin αVβ6 Affinity of Cyclic RGD Peptides and Provide Handles for Late‐Stage Derivatization

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Lighting up αVβ6: Halotryptophan engineering converts an RGD scaffold into a modular αVβ6 ligand platform, enabling picomolar affinity and late‐stage functionalization. The resulting probes combine high selectivity with fluorescence for FACS and tumor imaging.
