Which Chromium–Sulfur Compounds Exist as 2D Material?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D chromium sulfides synthesized using molecular beam epitaxy on graphene. Structural characterization reveals two novel 2D materials, Cr2S3‐2D, which lacks a direct bulk counterpart, and Cr223S${\rm Cr}_{2\frac{2}{3}}{\rm S}$4‐2D, a minimum thickness version of Cr5S6. However, attempts to synthesize CrS2 are unsuccessful. Both new 2D phases are stable

Surgical Resection of Sternal Tumors and Reconstruction with Titanium Mesh

open access: yesChinese Medical Sciences Journal, 2011
To evaluate the use of titanium mesh reconstruction after sternal tumor resection. From January 2007 to January 2011, 14 patients with sternal tumors were admitted into Peking Union Medical Hospital. The clinical characteristics, surgical resection, and technique of reconstruction were reviewed.Of the 14 patients, 3 had a metastatic sternal tumor, the ...

Single Pair of Weyl Points Evolve From Spin Group‐Protected Nodal Line in Half‐Metallic Ferromagnet V3S4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spin group (SG)‐based mechanism is proposed to realize a single pair of Weyl points. PT‐symmetric nodal lines (NLs) persist under T‐breaking, protected by the combination of SG and P symmetry. When considering spin‐orbit coupling, the SG‐protected NL will split into Weyl points, which will also induce anomalous transport phenomena arising from ...

Understanding the Chemical and Electronic Properties of Sub‐Monolayer TiO2 on High Surface Area Silica for Jet Fuel Synthesis Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐monolayer titania grafted onto mesoporous silica enables solvent‐free photocatalytic upgrading of furfural and cyclopentanone into jet fuel precursors. Advanced spectroscopic methods reveal tunable surface speciation, acidity, and bandgaps, enhancing catalytic efficiency.

Balancing mesh-related complications and benefits in primary ventral and incisional hernia surgery. A meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
BackgroundPrimary ventral hernia (PVH) and incisional hernia (IH) repair using a mesh appears to reduce hernia recurrence. However, are the benefits of mesh offset in part by mesh-related complications? The aim of this study was to compare placement of a
