The Ripstein (and related procedures) uses mobilization of the rectum and fixation into the hollow of the sacrum to treat full-thickness rectal prolapse. This chapter describes one technique for performing the Ripstein procedure. This chapter also describes creation of the Pfannenstiel incision, a useful incision for other procedures.
