Role of Structural Disorder on Phonon Transport and Thermal Conductivity in Li6PS5Br

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid electrolytes are fast ion and slow heat conductors. Although both transport properties are governed by lattice dynamics and atomic structure, their interplay remains poorly understood. Here, we study this interrelation in anion‐ordered and disordered Li6PS5Br.

Magneto‐Ionic Devices With Polymer‐Based Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes are introduced for magneto‐ionic devices based on hydroxide and hydrogen ions. The magneto‐ionic effect results in a pronounced voltage‐controlled variation of coercivity in both devices. The switching speed is in the range of 100 ms.

Critical Coupling in Semi‐Trasparent Fano Resonators for Photothermal Converters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrathin metal–insulator multilayer architecture is engineered to exploit Fano‐resonant critical coupling, completely suppressing optical reflectance while achieving a balanced 50:50 trade‐off between absorbance and transmittance. Upon laser excitation at resonance, the metamaterial generates intense localized heat (ΔT≈550∘C$\Delta T {\approx }550^\

A Miniaturized Autonomous Thermomagnetic Generator

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micro, autonomous and high power thermomagnetic generator operating between a heat dissipator and a processor. ABSTRACT Thermomagnetic generators (TMG) are promising devices for converting low‐grade waste heat into electricity. Self‐actuation using permanent magnets is the key to autonomy.

Controlling Structure and Stability in Ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene Multilayers for Hydrogen Gas Barrier Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrathin nanocomposite MXene‐based multilayer effectively blocks hydrogen permeation by presenting a tortuous, layered structure. When the MXene is layered with reduced graphene oxide modified with a polycation, the resulting nanocomposite retains its hydrogen gas barrier properties at temperatures as high as 400°C (permeability of 7.13 ± 0.09 × 10−
