Implant Removal Following Surgical Stabilization of Patella Fracture
Orthopedics, 2010Patella fractures are relatively common injuries. Tension band wiring is commonly used to treat displaced patella fractures. The goal of this study was to assess the outcome and implant removal rate following surgical stabilization of patella fracture. A consecutive series of 67 patients over a 6-year period was reviewed.

[Surgical stabilization of thoracic wall fractures].
Der Unfallchirurg, 1991We report our experience with 12 patients whose chest wall injuries were treated with stable internal fixation by means of rib plates. Of all patients with chest wall injuries requiring inpatient treatment, only 5.19% were operated for this diagnosis; that is to say this operation is seldom indicated.

Car crash is the main cause of blunt chest trauma. Despite their nature these lesions may be life-threatening. The mortality rate of chest injuries varies from 20 to 50%. In the last 3 years 86 patients with blunt chest injuries were treated in our institution.
