The surjectivity of the Borel mapping in the mixed setting for ultradifferentiable ramification spaces

open access: yes, 2019
We consider r-ramification ultradifferentiable classes, introduced by J. Schmets and M. Valdivia in order to study the surjectivity of the Borel map, and later on also exploited by the authors in the ultraholomorphic context.

Prym map and second gaussian map for Prym-canonical line bundles

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the second fundamental form of the Prym map lifts the second gaussian map of the Prym-canonical bundle. We prove, by degeneration to binary curves, that this gaussian map is surjective for the general point [C,A] of R_g for g > 19.Comment ...

Bridging Classical and Quantum Approaches for Quantitative Sensing of Turbid Media with Polarization‐Entangled Photons

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work bridges classical and quantum polarimetry toward quantitative quantum photonic sensing of turbid environments. Theoretical and experimental investigations reveal how polarization‐entangled photonic states evolve in turbid media, uncovering robust trends in entanglement evolution and paving the way for advanced quantum sensing in biomedical ...

Approximation of Dirac operators with δ‐shell potentials in the norm resolvent sense, II: Quantitative results

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper is devoted to the approximation of two‐ and three‐dimensional Dirac operators HV∼δΣ$H_{\widetilde{V} \delta _\Sigma }$ with combinations of electrostatic and Lorentz scalar δ$\delta$‐shell interactions in the norm resolvent sense. Relying on results from Behrndt, Holzmann, and Stelzer‐Landauer [Math. Nachr.

Surjectivity and equidistribution of the word x^ay^b on PSL(2,q) and SL(2,q)

open access: yes, 2011
We determine the positive integers a,b and the prime powers q for which the word map w(x,y)=x^ay^b is surjective on the group PSL(2,q) (and SL(2,q)). We moreover show that this map is almost equidistributed for the family of groups PSL(2,q) (and SL(2,q)).

On computing local monodromy and the numerical local irreducible decomposition

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Similarly to the global case, the local structure of a holomorphic subvariety at a given point is described by its local irreducible decomposition. Geometrically, the key requirement for obtaining a local irreducible decomposition is to compute the local monodromy action of a generic linear projection at the given point, which is always well ...

Time-optimal polarization transfer from an electron spin to a nuclear spin

open access: yes, 2015
Polarization transfers from an electron spin to a nuclear spin are essential for various physical tasks, such as dynamic nuclear polarization in nuclear magnetic resonance and quantum state transformations on hybrid electron-nuclear spin systems.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 5, Page 1151-1298, May 2026.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Equivariant toric geometry and Euler–Maclaurin formulae

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 3, Page 451-557, March 2026.
Abstract We first investigate torus‐equivariant motivic characteristic classes of toric varieties, and then apply them via the equivariant Riemann–Roch formalism to prove very general Euler–Maclaurin‐type formulae for full‐dimensional simple lattice polytopes.
