Ageing and irradiation surveillance by means of impact testing of precracked charpy specimens

Instrumented impact tests using pre-cracked Charpy specimens offer several advantages concerning the physical significance of the test results as compared to the normally used standard Charpy-V-Notch tests. Therefore, this type of tests is included in the Swiss RPV-irradiation surveillance programme.
