Survivable discrete circuits design
Proceedings of the Eighth IEEE International On-Line Testing Workshop (IOLTW 2002), 2003Schemes providing a synchronous sequential circuit (SSC) or combinational circuit (CC) survivability for unidirectional transient and intermittent faults are suggested. They are based on doubling self-checking circuits with using a self-testing checker for one of them and masking a fault manifestation with OR, AND and MX circuits.

Demographic Variation and Survival in Discrete Population Models
Mathematical Medicine and Biology, 1987Persistence and extinction attributes of a discrete population model are explored on both a finite and an infinite time horizon. For a first-order autonomous nonlinear difference equation, a classification is found of when, for each positive integer N, trajectories go to extinction at time N.

Optimal designs for discrete-time survival models with random effects
Lifetime Data Analysis, 2021This paper considers the optimal design for the frailty model with discrete-time survival endpoints in longitudinal studies. We introduce the random effects into the discrete hazard models to account for the heterogeneity between experimental subjects, which causes the observations of the same subject at the sequential time points being correlated.

Asymptotic properties of the positive equilibrium of a discrete survival model
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2004It is shown that every positive solution of \(x_{n+1}= (1-\mu)x_n+ p\exp(-\nu x_{n-k})\) with ...

Games of Economic Survival with Discrete- and Continuous-Income Processes
Operations Research, 1972In this model the income process of a firm is assumed to be a homogeneous Markov process (discrete or continuous). One is interested in an optimal dividend strategy, i.e., a strategy that maximizes the expected sum of the discounted dividend payments. This paper derives general results in the case where the income process is skip free to the right; in

Power Analysis for Trials With Discrete-Time Survival Endpoints
Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics, 2012Studies on event occurrence aim to investigate if and when subjects experience a particular event. The timing of events may be measured continuously using thin precise units or discretely using time periods. The latter metric of time is often used in social science research and the generalized linear model (GLM) is an appropriate model for data ...

Discretizing a Continuous Covariate in Survival Studies
2003Publisher Summary When a decision is made to use a threshold model, the problem is to determine the cut-point among high-risk and low-risk patients. In the data-oriented approach, cut-points are based on the distribution of the covariate in the study population.

Accrual by groups in trials with discrete-time survival endpoints
Clinical Trials, 2012Background In many fields of science, event status is often recorded in intervals or at discrete points in time and can be investigated in experimental settings. Conducting such trials requires thorough planning before they are actually performed. Purpose

Oblique Survival Trees in Discrete Event Time Analysis
IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, 2020One of the main objectives of survival analysis is to predict the failure time that is usually considered as a continuous variable. In longitudinal studies, the data are often collected at every certain period of time, for example, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Such data require appropriate techniques to handle the discrete time values that often have
