High Survival and Percentages of Giraffe Calves Signal Areas in Need of Protection

2023
We surveyed endangered Masai giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) at Oloirien Group Ranch (OGR) and Oloisukut Conservancy (OC) in Kenya to determine their conservation potential. Here, Maasai settlements, livestock, and predator control result in lion densities less than half that of adjacent protected areas.

The host inflammatory responses, tumor stroma percentage, and survival in colorectal cancer.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2014
549 Background: The role of host inflammatory responses in determining colorectal cancer (CRC) outcome is increasingly recognised. In particular, a marked local inflammatory response is associated with improved survival. However, determinants of this response are not clear. A plausible factor in the density, location and type of the inflammatory cell

Percentage Tumor Necrosis Following Chemotherapy in Neuroblastoma Correlates withMYCNStatus but not Survival

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, 2011
The percentage of chemotherapy-induced necrosis in primary tumors corresponds with outcome in several childhood malignancies, including high-risk metastatic diseases. In this retrospective pilot study, the authors assessed the importance of postchemotherapy necrosis in high-risk neuroblastoma with a histological and case notes review of surgically ...

Signet ring cell percentage in poorly cohesive gastric cancer patients: A potential novel predictor of survival

European Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2022
Signet ring cells (SRC) are widely acknowledged as a prognostically unfavorable histotype amongst poorly cohesive gastric cancer. In this study we evaluated the impact of SRC percentage on the clinical, pathological and prognostic features of these tumors according to the classification by the European Chapter of the IGCA.We retrospectively reviewed ...

Percentage of sarcomatoid component as a prognostic indicator for survival in sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2015
499 Background: Renal cell carcinoma with sarcomatoid component (sRCC) is characterized by the microscopic spectrum of spindle cells within a background of RCC. The presence of sarcomatoid elements is associated with higher stage of presentation and decreased patient survival.

[Effects of anther--pretreatments on the survival percentage of isolated microspores of maize].

Shi yan sheng wu xue bao, 2010
Using maize anthers of 2 cultivars as experimental materials, the effects of mannitol, colchcine and proline concentration in pretreatment solution and pretreating temperature on the survival percentage of isolated microspore were investigated. The survival percentage of isolated microspores were able to be respectively and obviously improved by ...

Effects of Some Organophosphate Insecticides on Percentage of Survival of Drosophila Melanogaster

2014
In this study, different concentrations of some organophosphate insecticides (methyl parathion, azamethypos, dichlorvos ve diazinon) were investigated for effects on survival percentage of Drosophila melanogaster. The mwh- flr3 Drosophila cross was used.
