The most obvious difference between boars and pigs is the coat, which is dark brown to black in boars but ranges in colour from whitish pink to black and patterns thereof. Wild boars are common all over the subcontinent, including Sri Lanka, wherever there is grass or scanty bush jungle, forests or mangrove forest.
