Suspended sediment concentrations under waves

Abstract A predictive formula is derived for calculation of the magnitude of time-averaged suspended sediment concentrations under waves. By taking into account the effect of flow contraction near ripple crests, the formula applies equally well for rippled beds and sheet flow conditions.

Nonequilibrium Transport of Suspended Sediment

The nonequilibrium transport of suspended sediment in an open channel is studied at an abrupt change from a nonerodible to an erodible bed. The convective-diffusion equation is solved for the case of constant velocity distribution and parabolic eddy diffusion coefficient. Diffusion in the direction of flow is neglected.
