Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Total Suspended Load and Sediment Yield of Kayan River, Bulungan District, East Kalimantan

open access: yesForum Geografi, 2016
This research was carried out the the drainage system of Kayan river, Bulungan District, East Kalimantan. The purpose of the research were to study the physical conditions of the Kayan catchment area, calculate the suspended sediment load, and to define ...

Quantifying stream phosphorus dynamics and total suspended sediment export in forested watersheds in Vermont [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Globally the quantity of reactive phosphorus (P) in soils, streams and groundwater has greatly increased throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. This phenomenon is problematic in Vermont, evidenced by the repeated cyanobacteria blooms in shallow ...

Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

Study of the Suspended Sediment Load Effect on Efficiency of Central Tikrit Water Supply Station

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2017
In this research the suspended sediment load effect on efficiency of central Tikrit water supply station was studied. Samples were taken from four locations include raw water, water outside from deposition and filtration basins and treated water.

Technical note: False low turbidity readings from optical probes during high suspended-sediment concentrations [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2018
Turbidity, a measure of water clarity, is monitored for a variety of purposes including (1) to help determine whether water is safe to drink, (2) to establish background conditions of lakes and rivers and detect pollution caused by construction ...

Trace Element Composition of Stream Sediments an Integrating Factor for Water Quality [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Bottom sediments, suspended sediments, and water were sampled along 130 miles of the Buffalo River in northern Arkansas. The water and acid extracts of the suspended sediments and the minus 95 mesh fraction of the bottom sediments were analyzed by atomic

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Calibration of a general optical equation for remote sensing of suspended sediments in a moderately turbid estuary [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A general algorithm for determining suspended sediment concentrations in the surface waters of estuaries has been developed for use with satellite data.

A model for fluvial bedrock incision by impacting suspended and bed load sediment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A mechanistic model is derived for the rate of fluvial erosion into bedrock by abrasion from uniform size particles that impact the bed during transport in both bed and suspended load.
