Topology Optimization & Analysis of Front Suspension Bracket using Creo

open access: yes, 2019
Topology optimization is one of the powerful tool to optimize any structure. It is used at the concept level of the design process so that a conceptual design proposal can be fine-tuned for performance and manufacturability. In automotive sector, design of suspension systems is always challenging due to the heavy loads the system is exposed to and the ...

The Bing-Borsuk and the Busemann Conjectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present two classical conjectures concerning the characterization of manifolds: the Bing Borsuk Conjecture asserts that every $n$-dimensional homogeneous ANR is a topological $n$-manifold, whereas the Busemann Conjecture asserts that every $n ...

Nonstabilized Nielsen coincidence invariants and Hopf--Ganea homomorphisms

open access: yes, 2006
In classical fixed point and coincidence theory the notion of Nielsen numbers has proved to be extremely fruitful. We extend it to pairs (f_1,f_2) of maps between manifolds of arbitrary dimensions, using nonstabilized normal bordism theory as our main ...

Computational Modeling Meets 3D Bioprinting: Emerging Synergies in Cardiovascular Disease Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Emerging advances in three‐dimensional bioprinting and computational modeling are reshaping cardiovascular (CV) research by enabling more realistic, patient‐specific tissue platforms. This review surveys cutting‐edge approaches that merge biomimetic CV constructs with computational simulations to overcome the limitations of traditional models, improve ...

Heegaard diagrams and surgery descriptions for twisted face-pairing 3-manifolds

open access: yes, 2003
The twisted face-pairing construction of our earlier papers gives an efficient way of generating, mechanically and with little effort, myriads of relatively simple face-pairing descriptions of interesting closed 3-manifolds. The corresponding description

Spherical Skin Model: Stratified Co‐Culture of Fibroblasts and Keratinocytes on Spherical Beads Toward Compound Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Models of the human skin must combine the relevant biological contents and suitable biomaterials with the correct spatial organization. Performing compound screening on such in vitro models also requires fast and reproducible production methods of the models.

Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

Embedding, compression and fiberwise homotopy theory

open access: yes, 2002
Given Poincare spaces M and X, we study the possibility of compressing embeddings of M x I in X x I down to embeddings of M in X. This results in a new approach to embedding in the metastable range both in the smooth and Poincare duality categories ...

Biomimetic Copper‐Doped Nano‐Aluminum Adjuvant Potentiates Therapy in Chemoresistant Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a novel copper‐doped aluminum nano‐adjuvant (CuNA) to overcome cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CuNA effectively sensitizes drug‐resistant AML cells to cytarabine by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting HMGCR/GPX4 to amplify ferroptosis.
