ABSTRACT The use of alternative food has become an integral component of biocontrol, allowing the introduction and establishment of predators into a crop before pest invasion and sustaining populations even when pest densities are low. The addition of alternative food also has a positive long‐term effect in decreasing the densities of the pest.

Reef fish assemblages impacted by sponges overgrowing corals
Abstract Numerous stressors are driving long‐term declines in coral cover on coral reefs, significantly impacting reef fish biodiversity and community structure. The benthic space made available by declining coral cover is often occupied by increases in other organisms, including macroalgae, encrusting ascidians, and sponges.

Compost legacy effects in active roadside restoration: Medium‐term shifts in plant succession
Roadside restoration experiment established on volcanic tephra following road construction in Andean Patagonia. A single application of municipal (MC) or biosolids (BC) compost rapidly increased plant cover compared with untreated controls (C) but led to distinct, exotic‐dominated plant communities over 6 years.
