A Hierarchically Structured, Stretchable, Anti‐Biofouling Encapsulation for Biodegradable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, stretchable, anti‐biofouling encapsulant is developed by integrating organosilicon nanowire networks with microstructured biodegradable elastomers. The hierarchical surface exhibits superhydrophobicity and enhances water barrier properties by 420% over pristine polymers, while preserving mechanical integrity.

Novel flat and wide meniscal repair material improves the ultimate load of knot breakage in a porcine trans-capsular meniscal repair model

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, 2017
Background In the meniscal repair procedures, a high ultimate load capacity and low cyclic creep at the repair site are favorable and lead to good biological incorporation of the tear site after surgery.

Antibacterial prophylaxis of surgical site infections in oral surgery: not only and not always systemic antibiotics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Antibacterial prophylaxis is a set of treatment measures, including antibiotic prophylaxis, under surgeon’s responsibility. If local measures are always to be applied, antibiotic prophylaxis administration needs a careful case selection in order to avoid

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

Targeting the ARRDC3–DRP1 Axis via hUMSC‐Derived Exosomal CRYAB for Neuroprotection in Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Intranasally administered hUMSC‐derived exosomes modulate the CRYAB–ARRDC3–Drp1 axis, alleviating mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis, enhancing neuronal survival, reducing oxidative stress, and promoting functional recovery in ischemia‐reperfusion injury, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke.

MODIFICATION AND METHOD OF DETERMINING OF ACTIVE GROUPS OF HEPARIN ON THE SURFACE OF SUTURE MATERIAL

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
The coating with the application of biopolymers of polyhydroxyalkanoate class and unfractionated heparin is perspective for giving thromboresistant properties to a surgical suture. We used a chemical reaction which was performed in several stages to give

Interrupted or continuous slowly absorbable sutures – Design of a multi-centre randomised trial to evaluate abdominal closure techniques INSECT-Trial [ISRCTN24023541]

open access: yesBMC Surgery, 2005
Background The closure of the abdomen after median laparotomy is still a matter of debate among surgeons. Further well designed and performed randomised controlled trials determining the optimal method of abdominal fascial closure are needed. Design This
