Subscapularis Repair With the Suture Shuttle Loop Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2013
Successful techniques for arthroscopic repair of subscapularis tendon tears have been previously described in the literature. Recommendations regarding portal placement, tissue mobilization, and suture passage have been published.

Techniques for better suturing

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1988
Abstract Suturing techniques enhancing the accuracy of suture placement and reducing the forces on the tissue being sutured were evaluated in six surgeons, each with 6 years' surgical experience. The accuracy was assessed by the distance between the actual and designated needle exit sites.

Embedded 3D‐Coaxial Bioprinting of Stenotic Brain Vessels with a Mechanically Enhanced Extracellular Matrix Bioink for Investigating Hemodynamic Force‐Induced Endothelial Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, a physically enhanced vascular dECM bioink and used 3D‐coaxial bioprinting are developed to fabricate mature brain blood vessels for cerebral atherosclerosis research. This model demonstrates that vascular geometry‐induced hemodynamic changes trigger vascular inflammation, ensuring its potential for cerebrovascular research.

Patient awareness and symptoms from an incisional hernia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Incisional hernia is a common postoperative complication following open abdominal surgery with incidence varying between 3% and 20%.1 Approximately half of all incisional hernias are diagnosed within 1 year following surgery. In the United Kingdom alone,

Anionic Citrate‐Based 3D‐Printed Scaffolds for Tunable and Sustained Orthobiologic Delivery to Enhance Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A potent anionic citric acid‐based 3D‐printed scaffold is developed for the sustained and controlled release of orthobiologics to enhance orthopedic therapeutic efficacy. Comprehensive in vivo studies demonstrated effective bone fusion and high safety at a low dose of BMP‐2 delivered by the system, establishing it as a promising platform for safe ...

Dual‐Nanoparticle Engineered Hydrogel Reverses Bicellular Oxidative Stress to Accelerate Diabetic Fracture Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
CD105‐LNPs and PS‐LNPs can deliver α‐lipoic acid to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow‐derived macrophages, reversing high glucose‐induced oxidative stress while enhancing osteogenesis and M2 polarization. Integrating both nanoparticles into glucose‐responsive hyaluronic acid hydrogel forms DLNPs@HA hydrogel, which accelerates diabetic ...

Microbubble‐Controlled Delivery of Biofilm‐Targeting Nanoparticles to Treat MRSA Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, an effective strategy using microbubble (MB)‐controlled delivery of biofilm‐targeting nanoparticles (BTNs) for removal and therapy of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilm infections is introduced. In vivo delivery of MB with BTN is demonstrated to silence key bacterial genes involved in biofilm formation (icaA), bacterial ...
