Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

SUTURES USING POLYGLACTIN 910 AND TITANIUM STAPLES: URINARY AND UROLITHOGENIC ASPECTS IN EXPERIMENTAL ILEOCYSTOPLASTIES IN DOGS

open access: yesCiência Animal Brasileira, 2011
Urinary disorders are an important finding in ileocystoplasty, especially uroliths and crystalluria, and partly related to the type of suture material involved in this procedure. The aim of this study was to determine whether there are differences in the

Taut sutured handlebodies as twisted homology products

open access: yes, 2018
Friedl and Kim show any taut sutured manifold can be realized as a twisted homology product, but their proof gives no practical description of how complicated the realizing representation needs to be.

Translational Considerations for Injectable Biomaterials and Bioscaffolds to Repair and Regenerate Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Is the observed lowering of intraocular pressure due to treatment?

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2013
Objective: Use Bayes′ theorem to estimate the intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering effect of medical treatment initiated for glaucoma and determine if IOP comparisons to the baseline IOP of the same eye is clinically useful.

Co‐Electrospinning Extracellular Matrix with Polycaprolactone Enables a Modular Approach to Balance Bioactivity and Mechanics of a Multifunctional Bone Wrap

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...
