On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Studies on polynuclear furoquinones. Part 1: Synthesis of tri- and tetra-cyclic furoquinones simulating BCD/ABCD ring system of furoquinone diterpenoids

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
Synthesis of phenanthro[1,2-b]furan-10,11-dione, the core nucleus present in Tanshinone-I is described in 8–10 steps starting from 2-bromo-3,4-dihydro-1-naphthaldehyde. The bromoaldehyde was converted to methyl 2-(2-bromo-1-naphthyl)acetate or 2-(2-bromo-

Tripod-shaped penta (p-phenylene)s for the functionalization of silicon surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In order to obtain nanostructured thin films to be used in biosensor devices, several chemical functionalization methods have been developed, such as Click chemistry or Suzuki carbon-carbon coupling reactions on surfaces.1 With the aim to control the

Twisted boundary states in Kazama-Suzuki models

open access: yes, 2003
We construct Cardy states in the Kazama-Suzuki model G/H x U(1), which satisfy the boundary condition twisted by the automorphisms of the coset theory. We classify all the automorphisms of G/H x U(1) induced from those of the G theory.

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Synthesis of platinum and palladium complexes with bis-(hydroxy imines)

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2012
The Schiff bases are an important class of compounds well used as ligands in coordination chemistry. The functionalized bis-imines, that represent a specific group of Schiff base, have been studied in our research group both for the evaluation of ...

Infrared problem for the Nelson model on static space-times [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the Nelson model with variable coefficients and investigate the problem of existence of a ground state and the removal of the ultraviolet cutoff.

Harmonizing the Pyrene and Ether Groups in Covalent Triazine Polymers for Highly Effective H2O2 Photosynthesis via One‐Step Two‐Electron Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The pyrene and ether groups are incorporated into the covalent triazine polymer (CTP) structure. The synergistic effect of the two functional groups endows CTP with better electron transfer, light absorption, and oxygen activation properties. An impressive apparent quantum yield (13.2% @420 nm) and a remarkable solar‐to‐chemical conversion efficiency ...

Action-Perception Coupling in Violinists

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2013
The current study investigates auditory-motor coupling in musically trained participants using a Stroop-type task that required the execution of simple finger sequences according to aurally presented number sequences (e.g.
