NeuroSuite for Long‐Term Functional and Structural Studies of Air‐Liquid Interface Cerebral Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NeuroSuite provides a modular hardware‐software platform integrating Neuroweb and NeuroMaps to enable long‐term, in situ electrophysiological interrogation of air–liquid interface organoid slices while preserving tissue architecture. Its components can be used together or independently to capture real‐time activity, spatial network dynamics, and ...

Decomposed SH-, SV-, and P-wavefields and their visualizations for interpretation of reproduced synthetic waves in the Osaka sedimentary basin, Japan, due to a Mw 5.6 earthquake beneath its edge

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space
We decomposed complex synthetic wavefields in an inhomogeneous sedimentary basin into P-, SV-, and SH-wavefields, and quantitatively evaluated the amplitude, propagation velocity, and propagation direction of coherent waves in each decomposed wavefield ...

Effect of Oblique SV Wave on the Seismic Response of Mountain Tunnel

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2023
In order to study the dynamic response of parallel mountain tunnels under the oblique incidence of seismic waves, based on the display finite element method and using viscoelastic artificial boundary, the oblique incidence of three-way seismic waves was ...

Line-focusing of ultrasonic SV wave by electromagnetic acoustic transducer [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998
An electromagnetic acoustic transducer has been developed for line-focusing the shear-vertical (SV) wave in a metal. The EMAT consists of a permanent magnet to supply the bias magnetic field normal to the surface, and a meanderline coil to induce the dynamic field and eddy currents in the surface region of the sample.

Magnetoelectric Nanoparticles Enable Modulation of Cortical Networks by Low‐Intensity Static Magnetic Fields In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuromodulation strategies are increasingly needed to stimulate, restore, or replace altered neuronal activity in disease. Cobalt ferrite‐barium titanate (CFO–BTO) magnetoelectric nanoparticles convert low‐intensity static magnetic fields into local electrical modulation of cortical networks.

Multiple Reflection of Plane P and SV Waves By a Dipping Layer [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 1970
Sumniary The problem of plane P and SV waves incident at the base of a dipping layer and perpendicular to the strike is investigated by a technique which expresses the reflection and refraction coefficients in terms of the propagation direction of the incident wave in a cylindrical co-ordinate system.

A Robotic Testing Platform for Pipelined Discovery of Resilient Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a robotic testing platform enabling high‐throughput, multi‐parameter lifetime mapping of linear dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs). By integrating programmable high‐voltage control and automated electromechanical measurements, the system identifies material and operating conditions that double actuator lifetime.

Analytical Formulations of Tunnel–Soil–Pile Interaction Model With Presence of Tire‐Derived Aggregates Under Seismic Excitations

open access: yesEngineering Reports
This research derives modified analytical formulations for the tunnel–soil–pile interaction (TSPI) model with the presence of the tire‐derived aggregates (TDAs) under the horizontal shear (SH), vertical shear (SV) and body (P) waves.

On the role of topographic amplification in seismic slope instabilities

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2015
Surface wave generation due to body wave propagation near ground surface has been discussed in the literature. This phenomenon, typically occurring in topographic changing areas, along with its interaction with body waves (SV), decreases precision of ...

SV wave propagation in a nonlinear soil layer

open access: yesGeotecnia, 2010
In this work, the vertical propagation of an SV shear pulse wave in a saturated homogeneous and horizontal soil layer under undrained conditions is analysed. Nonlinear constitutive models of variable complexity are used showing their influence on the modification, through the soil layer, of the input pulse applied at the rigid soil base.
