Three‐Year Propagation Experiment at Ku‐, Ka‐, and Q‐Band in French West Indies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT From January 2021 to December 2023, the Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA) and the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) conducted a three‐year Earth‐space propagation measurement campaign in Guadeloupe. The experiment used beacon receivers deployed in Pointe‐à‐Pitre airport to record signals at 11.2, 19.7, and

Directive Antenna Clutter Loss in Slant Paths

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the development of a clutter loss model specifically for slant paths involving directive antennas. Conventionally, clutter loss is characterized by using isotropic antennas to facilitate standard link budget calculations via single antenna gain values.

Career Sustainability Profiles of Self‐Initiated Expatriates and Associated Person‐Related Factors

open access: yesThunderbird International Business Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasingly volatile global working environment poses particular challenges for self‐initiated expatriates (SIEs), who often lack formal organizational support and must manage their careers independently. However, research on SIEs has largely focused on single international experiences or specific stages of the expatriation cycle, thereby

Spatial Gene Expression in Fungi: mRNA Localization, Condensates, and Beyond

open access: yesYeast, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polarized growth and cellular asymmetry are broadly conserved properties of fungal life, from transient bud‐site selection in unicellular yeasts to sustained hyphal extension in filamentous and coenocytic species. While vesicle trafficking, cytoskeletal organization, and cell‐wall remodeling are well‐established contributors to these processes,

Loanwords and Linguistic Phylogenetics: *pelek̑u‐ ‘axe’ and *(H)a(i̯)g̑‐ ‘goat’1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 123, Issue 1, Page 116-136, March 2025.
Abstract This paper assesses the role of borrowings in two different approaches to linguistic phylogenetics: Traditional qualitative analyses of lexemes, and quantitative computational analysis of cognacy. It problematises the assumption that loanwords can be excluded altogether from datasets of lexical cognacy.

Do as I Say, Not as I Do: Exploring the Links Between Parenting Styles, Parental Aspirations, and Socioeconomic Status, and Young People's Post‐School Aspirations in Scotland

open access: yesThe British Journal of Sociology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There is limited population level empirical evidence examining the relationship between social class and post‐school aspirations in Scotland, and previous research elsewhere finds conflicting results. Without knowledge of the relationship between social class and post‐school aspirations, it is difficult to confirm whether social stratification

Intra‐ and Interspecific Effects on Spatio‐Temporal Behavior of Common Commensal Rodent Species

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This study revealed major findings on spatio‐temporal behavior of commensal rodents on a pig farm showing the influence of interspecific dominance on movement behavior and the resulting species‐specific ecological adaptations. Additionally, rodents tend to stay in their home ranges and migration to other stable buildings is only rare.

Osteological, Biological, and Genetic Consequences of Colonization of Fresh Waters by Marine Cottoid Fishes (Cottidae)

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Lacustrine forms of Triglopsis from North American and European lakes are at different stages of evolution, making them a suitable model for testing hypotheses about evolutionary patterns and rates. An integrative analysis of morphological, genetic, and biological adaptations occurring in lacustrine forms of the genus Triglopsis was carried out.
