The illusory correlation between geometrical similarity and physician satisfaction in heart auto‐segmentation revealed by a physician‐blind test

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Background Auto‐segmentation tools are essential in adaptive radiation therapy (ART). While evaluation typically relies on geometric metrics like Dice similarity coefficient (DSC), high scores do not always translate to clinical acceptability.

Implementation of First‐Line Rapid Genome Sequencing for Children in Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Units

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 6, Page 1326-1336, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Substantial data supports the use of rapid exome and genome sequencing (rES/rGS) in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), but fewer studies have examined the impact of rES/rGS in other pediatric critical care units. We evaluated the impact on diagnostic yield and time to diagnosis following a single‐center hospital policy change allowing ...

Primary Cardiac Angiosarcoma in a Young Male: Rare Presentation With Right Atrial Endocardial Dissection and Right Coronary Artery Tumor Fistula

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We report the case of a 19‐year‐old man who presented with several months of exertional dyspnea and recent‐onset hemostasis. Initial imaging revealed multiple pulmonary nodules. Days later, he was referred to a specialized center with chest pain and signs of pericarditis.

Cervical Skip Metastases and Extensive Central Venous Thrombosis as the Initial Presentation of High‐Grade Prostate Adenocarcinoma With Discordant PI‐RADS 3 Findings: A Case Report and Diagnostic Challenge

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer can initially present with cervical lymph node “skip” metastases and extensive central venous thrombosis, without pelvic or bone involvement. A PI‐RADS 3 lesion on mpMRI does not exclude high‐grade (Gleason 5 + 5 = 10) disease. Unexplained thrombosis in elderly men warrants prostate cancer investigation.

A Fuzzy‐Logic and Machine Learning‐Based Framework for Water Quality Index Classification in Extensive and Intensive Aquaculture Systems

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study presents an Internet of Things (IoT)‐to‐Cloud framework for real‐time monitoring and prediction of the Water Quality Index (WQI) across both extensive and intensive aquaculture systems. By integrating Fuzzy Logic biological thresholds with ML classification, the Random Forest model achieves over 99.5% accuracy in both environments ...

Severity‐Based Prioritisation of Administrative Tax Non‐Compliance: A Multiclass Prediction Approach Using Financial and Governance Data

open access: yesIntelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management, Volume 33, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Tax authorities face growing volumes of filings and payments and must manage procedural non‐compliance (e.g., late filing, late payment and the accumulation of tax arrears) with limited administrative capacity. Many existing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in tax administration rely on binary outcomes, which
