NAND flash memory–based solid state disks (SSDs) have been widely used in enterprise servers. However, flash memory has limited write endurance, as a block becomes unreliable after a finite number of program/erase cycles. Existing wear-leveling techniques are essentially intradisk data distribution schemes, as they can only even ...

The SWAN (solar wind anisotropies) Lyman photometer project is described. It will map the interplanetary hydrogen emission every other day. From these sky maps, the latitude distribution of the solar wind mass flux from equator to pole can be measured, as well as the variation of this distribution.
