YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

CALLABLE SWAPS, SNOWBALLS AND VIDEOGAMES
Although economically more meaningful than the alternatives, short rate models have been dismissed for financial engineering applications in favor of market models as the latter are more flexible and best suited to cluster computing implementations.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

An Empirical Analysis of Equity Default Swaps (I): Univariate Insights [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to describe a new methodology to assess the risk of any Equity Default Swap (EDS). We show that as credit ratings can measure counter-party risk, it is technically possible to provide a quantitatively derived “through the cycle ...

In this paper we discuss moment swaps. These derivatives depend on the realized higher moments of the underlying. A special case is the nowadays popular variance swaps. After introducing moment swaps we discuss how to hedge these derivatives.

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Moment Methods for Exotic Volatility Derivatives
The latest generation of volatility derivatives goes beyond variance and volatility swaps and probes our ability to price realized variance and sojourn times along bridges for the underlying stock price process.
