General Abelian Orientifold Models and One Loop Amplitudes [PDF]
We construct a one loop amplitude for any Abelian orientifold point group for arbitary complex dimensions. From this we show several results for orientifolds in this general class of models as well as for low dimensional compactifications. We also discuss the importance and structure of the contribution of orientifold planes to the dynamics of D-branes,

The bovine tail experiences complex dynamic motions in vivo, resulting in varying amplitudes of lateral bending and flexion‐extension between levels. Joints exposed to the lowest motion amplitudes in vivo have the highest ex vivo passive ranges of motion.

Long term nitrogen budget modelling in a small agricultural watershed: hydrological control assessment of nitrogen losses with semi-distributed (SWAT) and distributed (TNT2) models [PDF]
Nitrogen exports in catchments are known to be greatly variable because nitrogen cycle in watershed is controlled by different factors such as landuse, farm management practices, climate, soil type and hydrological setting.

Exploring Causal Learning Through Graph Neural Networks: An In‐Depth Review
Graphical abstract of the survey with a taxonomical approach to causal learning with graph neural networks. ABSTRACT In machine learning, exploring data correlations to predict outcomes is a fundamental task. Recognizing causal relationships embedded within data is pivotal for a comprehensive understanding of system dynamics, the significance of which ...

How Bad Governance Led to Conflict: The Case of Swat, Pakistan [PDF]
The paper presents an alternative narrative to the what led to conflict in the once peaceful Swat Valley in Pakistan. The widely discussed view has been that Talibanization is what led to the conflict but this paper argues that it was in fact bad ...

A Physically Based Model for Non‐Point Source Pollutant Wash‐Off Process Over Impervious Surfaces
Abstract Physically based urban wash‐off modeling presents a promising approach for investigating the dynamics of road‐deposited sediments (RDS) and the associated pollutants during rainfall events. This paper proposes a novel physically based model to predict urban wash‐off process over impervious surfaces, where raindrop‐induced detachment, flow ...

Improved Upper Bounds for Pairing Heaps [PDF]
Pairing heaps are shown to have constant amortized time Insert and Meld, thus showing that pairing heaps have the same amortized runtimes as Fibonacci heaps for all operations but Decrease-key.
