Sweat gland carcinoma with metastases
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1960Sweat gland carcinomas with distant metastases have been infrequently recorded in the literature, the first case being reported by Hedinger 1 in 1911. Most of these tumors have originated in areas where the apocrine sweat glands are located. Primary tumors of the hand are also uncommon; of 750,827 patients seen at the Henry Ford Hospital and Clinics ...

Carcinoembryonic antigen in sweat-gland carcinomas
Cancer, 1982Using standard immunoperoxidase techniques, four cases of malignant sweat-gland carcinoma were examined for the presence of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). This substance was universally present in these lesions in spite of their wide spectrum of histologic features.

A 71-year-old woman presented to a dermatologist with an enlargingmass on her right eyelid. The patient stated the lesion first appeared 10 years prior at which time it was surgically removed. She was unclear of the pathologic diagnosis.

Genetic changes in sweat gland carcinomas
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2000The molecular pathogenesis of malignant appendageal tumors is poorly understood. Immunohistochemical staining, polymerase chain reaction (PCR)‐based loss of heterozygosity (LOH) and sequencing analyses were performed in a mixed group of 21 sweat gland carcinomas. LOH was mostly confined to the chromosome arm 17p.

APOCRINE SWEAT GLAND CARCINOMA.
British Journal of Dermatology, 1970SUMMARY.— A case of apocrine sweat gland carcinoma in a man aged 78 is presented. The patient died of widespread huematogenous metastases. Enzyme histochemical findings were important for the final identification of the tumour.

Metastasizing Sweat-Gland Carcinoma
A.M.A. Archives of Dermatology, 1957In a previous report 15 the rarity of metastasizing neoplasms of sweat-gland origin was pointed out. Failure to establish unequivocal criteria for the diagnosis of sweat-gland carcinoma warrants minute examination of all available specimens to obtain more information concerning the biological potentiality of these tumors.
