Diagnosis of Laforaʼs Disease in Apocrine Sweat Glands of the Axilla
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1991A case of Lafora's disease diagnosed by skin biopsy is reported. Lafora's bodies, the hallmark of myoclonal epilepsy, were present in the epithelial cells of the apocrine glands. Therefore, the skin biopsy of the axilla proved to be very useful in the diagnosis of this entity.

Neurology, 1981Skin biopsies of three patients with Lafora disease (clinically typical and proven by liver biopsy) showed PAS-positive inclusions in numerous peripheral cells of eccrine sweat ducts. By electronmicroscopy, the inclusions consisted of polyglucosan-type material; they were not bounded by a membrane.

Bowen's disease with invasive carcinoma showing sweat gland differentiation
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1989A 75‐year‐ear‐old Japanese woman presented an erythematous macular lesion on the flexor aspect of her left wrist. A reddish nodule, 4 mm in diameter, was observed at the medial portion of the macule. The macular lesion was histologically confirmed to be a typical Bowen's disease.
