Unusual Morphologic Presentation of Perineural Spread From Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Diagnosis Aided by Comprehensive Molecular Analysis and Machine Learning. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Neoplasms of unknown primary frequently pose a diagnostic challenge due to their nonspecific morphological and immunohistochemical features. Definitive classification of these neoplasms has a profound impact on treatment decisions. Mutational and gene expression profiling can provide diagnostic and prognostic information in these challenging ...

Sweat Gland Tumors Arising on Acral Sites
Recurrent oncogenic drivers have been identified in a variety of sweat gland tumors. Recently, integration of human papillomavirus type 42 (HPV42) has been reported in digital papillary adenocarcinoma (DPA). The main objectives of the present study were (i) to provide an overview of the prevalence of previously identified oncogenic drivers in acral ...

Histochemical and Immunohistochemical Markers for Human Eccrine and Apocrine Sweat Glands: An Aid for Histopathologic Differentiation of Sweat Gland Tumors [PDF]
Apocrine and eccrine sweat glands are distinct in function, although they are closely related to each other developmentally and morphologically. In certain sweat gland tumors, it is difficult to differentiate between eccrine or apocrine sweat glands. Therefore, this paper reviews histochemical and immunohistochemical markers to differentiate apocrine ...

KIT (CD117) Expression in Benign and Malignant Sweat Gland Tumors [PDF]
KIT (CD117, c-kit) is a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in the tumorigenesis of several neoplasms. KIT is expressed by the secretory cells of normal sweat glands. We studied the KIT expression and KIT mutational status in various benign and malignant tumors of eccrine and apocrine glands.

Mixed Apocrine Sweat Gland Tumor of the Tail in a Cow [PDF]
A 4-year-old native-breed cow had a mass with wide areas of ulceration and hemorrhage at the base of the tail at the same level as the vulva. The tumor was 19 X 13 X 11 cm, appeared red-brown, and was firm to hard, with gritty areas apparent on cut surface.

Rare sweat gland tumors of vulva: Report of two cases
Syringomas and Fox-Fordyce disease are appendageal skin disorders. While syringomas represent an adenoma of the intraepidermal eccrine duct, Fox Fordyce disease occurs due to blockage of the apocrine sweat duct. In both conditions, extragenital sites are more frequently involved than the genitalia.

Classification of sweat gland tumors.
The difficulty in diagnosing sweat gland tumors lies in the different classifications of the tumors used in textbooks. As for malignant tumors, the naming is more complicated for there are malignant tumors as the counterparts of the benign tumors as well as the undifferentiated carcinomas mimicking the benign tumors, and often a name used by an author ...
