The Sweat Glands

Among the mammalian species man is singularly well equipped with sweat glands. Accordingly, most work on these glands has been performed on humans. In the present article the main emphasis is placed on the excretion of salt and water by the human eccrine sweat gland and on the mechanism of secretion.

Polymorphous sweat gland carcinoma

We describe nine cases of a distinctive cutaneous neoplasm showing features of eccrine adnexal differentiation that were characterized by their variegated histological appearance and low‐grade malignant behaviour. The term polymorphous sweat gland carcinoma is proposed to designate these lesions.
