Resistance to Airflow through Sweet Potato Aerial Vine Components

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2016
Designers of forced air handling systems require data on resistance to airflow for accurate selection of fans and mathematical prediction of pressure drop and airflow patterns. In this research, resistance to airflow of sweet potato leaves and chopped sweet potato aerial vines dried in an experimental cabinet dryer was measured to determine the effect ...

Sweet potato vines in diets for growing rabbits on performance, carcass characteristics and meat quality

Animal Science Journal, 2018
AbstractThe use of residues as substitutes for conventional ingredients in animal feed is a promising alternative able to reduce both costs and environmental pollution. This study aimed to evaluate the viability of using sweet potato vines (SPV) as a replacement for alfalfa hay in diets for growing rabbits.

[Isolation and identification of polysaccharide from sweet potato vines].

Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2009
China is the largest country of cultivating sweet potato in the world. The resources of sweet potato vines (SPV) are huge. To exploit the rich resources, SPV of XuShu 18 was selected as raw materials since it is cultivated in China widely. Polysaccharide from SPV was extracted by pilot instrument and precipitated by ethanol.

A note on a comparison of the feeding value of sweet potato vines and lucerne meal for broiler chickens

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 2000
The chemical composition of sun-dried sweet potato vines (SPV) and lucerne meal showed high levels (g/kg DM) of neutral detergent fibre, ash and protein of 364 and 352, 178 and 100, and 191 and 182, respectively. Amino acid analysis showed modest levels of lysine, threonine and the sulfur amino acids in both meals but concentrations of these amino ...

Nature of Damage and Sources of Resistance to Sweetpotato Vine Borer (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) in Sweet Potato

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1987
On Penghu Island in the Taiwan Strait, sweetpotato vine borer (SPVB), Omphisa anastomasalis (Guenee), infestation reduces sweet potato root yield by 50%. Yield reduction results from larval feeding concealed inside vines and, at times, inside storage roots.
