High‐Throughput Screening and Interpretable Machine Learning for Rational Design of Bimetallic Catalysts for Methane Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Methane's efficient catalytic removal is vital for sustainable development. Bimetallic catalysts, though promising for methane activation, pose a design challenge due to their complex compositional space. This work introduces an integrated framework that combines high‐throughput density functional theory (DFT) and interpretable machine ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Study of Swift Heavy Ion Modified Conducting Polymer Composites for Application as Gas Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2006
A polyaniline-based conducting composite was prepared by oxidativepolymerisation of aniline in a polyvinylchloride (PVC) matrix. The coherent free standingthin films of the composite were prepared by a solution casting method.

Mechanisms of Alkali Ionic Transport in Amorphous Oxyhalides Solid State Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Large‐scale machine learning‐based molecular dynamics simulations are used to investigate isovalent amorphous oxyhalides, revealing a remarkable chemically independent ionic conductivity. A rigorous analysis of alkali residence times across different metal–anion environments identifies divalent anions as key diffusion bottlenecks.

Surface nanostructuring of SrTiO$_3$ single crystals by slow highly charged ions and swift heavy ions

open access: yes, 2011
Single crystals of strontium titanate have been irradiated with both slow highly charged Xe ions extracted from an Electron Beam Ion Trap and swift heavy Xe ions. After irradiation, the crystals were investigated by scanning force microscopy in air. In

Toward Predictable Nanomedicine: Current Forecasting Frameworks for Nanoparticle–Biology Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Predictive models successfully screen nanoparticles for toxicity and cellular uptake. Yet, complex biological dynamics and sparse, nonstandardized data limit their accuracy. The field urgently needs integrated artificial intelligence/machine learning, systems biology, and open‐access data protocols to bridge the gap between materials science and safe ...

Nanomelting and track formation in insulators by swift heavy ions

open access: yes, 2012
Collisions of swift heavy ions with insulator targets lead to a damage zone around the path of projectiles, so-called tracks. We theoretically investigate the mechanisms leading to track formation and propose a fully microscopic three-step model that ...
