The Bromination of Swimming Pools [PDF]

DURING the course of an investigation upon the chlorination of sea water swimming pools, it was found that the liberation of bromine from the naturally occurring bromide, which is normally present to the extent of 70 ppm, caused the formation of bromamines as well as chloramines in the presence of nitrogenous matter from the bathing load.
