Compressed Imaging at Long Range in SWIR

2019
In this paper, we present a single pixel camera operating in the Short Wave InfraRed (SWIR) spectral range that reconstructs high resolution images from an ensemble of compressed measurements. The SWIR spectrum provides significant benefits in many applications due to its night vision characteristics and its ability to penetrate smoke and fog.

Miniaturization of a SWIR hyperspectral imager

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
A new approach for the design and fabrication of a miniaturized SWIR Hyperspectral imager is described. Previously, good results were obtained with a VNIR Hyperspectral imager, by use of light propagation within bonded solid blocks of fused silica. These designs use the Offner design form, providing excellent, low distortion imaging.

CCD For SWIR Photodiode Multiplexing

SPIE Proceedings, 1988
A new SWIR focal plane has been designed for the French Space Agency's SPOT IV satellite. It consists of a linear array of InGaAs photodiodes, operating at ambient temperature, associated to Si CCD multiplexers. The CCDs are of the two phase n-buried channel type, operating up to 2 MHz.

Modeling the TOA Brightness Temperature on the SWIR-Sensors

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
Creation of maps of surface temperature distribution based on satellite imagery data is becoming increasingly important throughout the past decade and is relevant for a number of studies. This paper presents the values of the coefficients and expressions for calculating the brightness temperature on the SWIR sensors of Landsat-8, Sentinel-2A/B and ...

Classification of Polymers Based on the Degree of Their Transparency in SWIR Spectrum

2022
Detection, classification and sorting of polymeric particles is a common task required in recycling industry. In the proposed work, an innovative method for detection of polymeric particles and their classification is introduced. The method is based on evaluation of images of polymeric particles, obtained from short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) camera ...

Simulation of whitecaps and their radiometric properties in the SWIR

SPIE Proceedings, 2016
A 3D simulation of the dynamic sea surface populated with whitecaps is presented. The simulation considers the dynamic evolution of whitecaps depending on wind speed and fetch. It is suitable for imaging simulations of maritime scenarios. The calculation of whitecap radiance is done in the SWIR spectral band by considering wave hiding and shadowing ...

Development of a SWIR optical system for surveillance

Optical Manufacturing and Testing XII, 2018
We have developed a SWIR (Short Wavelength Infrared) optical system for surveillance. The focal length of the optical system was 300 mm for a 640x512 pixel detector. The spatial resolution of the optical system has been designed less than 0.05 mrad. We have measured the spatial resolution to verify the optical performance.

On-orbit performance of the MODIS SWIR bands

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
The 36 MODIS spectral bands, with wavelengths ranging from 0.41 μm to 14.2 μm, are distributed on four focal plane assemblies: visible (VIS), near-infrared (NIR), short- and mid-wave infrared (SMIR), and long-wave infrared (LWIR). The MODIS reflective solar bands (RSB) are calibrated onorbit using a solar diffuser (SD), with its reflectance degradation

Seasonal hemispherical SWIR airglow imaging

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Airglow luminescence in the SWIR region due to upper atmospheric recombination of solar excited molecules is a well accepted phenomenon. While the intensity appears broadly uniform over the whole sky hemisphere, we are interested in variations in four areas: 1) fine periodic features known as gravity waves, 2) broad patterns across the whole sky, 3)
