Compressed Imaging at Long Range in SWIR

Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2019
In this paper, we present a single pixel camera operating in the Short Wave InfraRed (SWIR) spectral range that reconstructs high resolution images from an ensemble of compressed measurements. The SWIR spectrum provides significant benefits in many applications due to its night vision characteristics and its ability to penetrate smoke and fog.

Monolithic germanium SWIR imaging array

2008 IEEE Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security, 2008
NoblePeak Vision is developing a new night vision technology based on visible to short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging. Imaging in this band is important because of the "night glow", light emitted by the night sky between 1 mum and 2 mum wavelength. The night glow provides sufficient illumination to allow passive imaging even under moonless overcast ...

Nonlinear SWIR imaging

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
Short wavelength infrared (SWIR) part of the spectrum offers several distinct advantages for biomedical imaging. In this report we focus on improving research capabilities for generating broadband continuum in spectral region from 1000 to 1900 nm and utilizing it for nonlinear Raman ...

Miniaturization of a SWIR hyperspectral imager

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
A new approach for the design and fabrication of a miniaturized SWIR Hyperspectral imager is described. Previously, good results were obtained with a VNIR Hyperspectral imager, by use of light propagation within bonded solid blocks of fused silica. These designs use the Offner design form, providing excellent, low distortion imaging.

Seasonal hemispherical SWIR airglow imaging

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Airglow luminescence in the SWIR region due to upper atmospheric recombination of solar excited molecules is a well accepted phenomenon. While the intensity appears broadly uniform over the whole sky hemisphere, we are interested in variations in four areas: 1) fine periodic features known as gravity waves, 2) broad patterns across the whole sky, 3)

MCT SWIR modules for active imaging

Infrared Technology and Applications XLV, 2019
For improved long-range reconnaissance applications, a SWIR module for active imaging was developed at AIM. Using laser illumination together with gated viewing (GV) capability reduces noise, amount of background clutter and path radiance and helps e.g. to see through smoke obscuration.

Active and passive SWIR imaging polarimetry

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
Efforts to understand the potential for polarization information to improve our target acquisition capability have been extended from the mid and long wave IR regions into the short wave IR. A passive, complete rotating- retarder Stokes imaging polarimeter has been developed, calibrated, and field tested.
