A Submesoscale Cascade‐Driven Mesoscale Seasonal Cycle in the Subtropics
Abstract We show that the submesoscale inverse cascade almost entirely drives the mesoscale kinetic energy (KE) seasonal cycle in the interior subtropical gyre. Using a coarse‐graining framework to diagnose cross‐scale energy fluxes (Πh ${{\Pi }}_{h}$), we show the forward cascade remains confined to <20 km within the mixed layer, peaking January–March.

Perforation of Jejunum as a Rare Complication of Pericardiocentesis: A Case Report
ABSTRACT The safety of pericardiocentesis as a therapy for cardiac tamponade has improved since the advent of echocardiography‐guided pericardiocentesis. The most serious complications include injury of the cardiac chambers, laceration of the coronary arteries or intercostal vessels, puncture of the abdominal viscera or peritoneal cavity, pneumothorax,

Affordable CRISPR RNP‐Based Genome Editing in Euglena gracilis
Abstract Genome editing can enhance basic research and enable industrial applications of green algae. Here, we present an affordable, broadly applicable workflow for genome editing in the unicellular green alga Euglena gracilis using Cas9 nucleases. This method retains high editing efficiency while significantly lowering technical barriers.

Abstract Alveolar epithelial cell type 1 (AT1) and type 2 (AT2) cells make up the saccular gas exchange units of the lung, called alveoli. Formation of alveoli during lung development accounts for the expansive surface area of the lung, allowing for proper respiration and delivery of oxygen to the body.

Previous research has demonstrated that acclimation can have positive or negative effects on population growth rates in variable thermal environments, depending on the amount of time acclimation takes. A clear picture of the timescale of acclimation may help identify the consequences of various frequencies of thermal fluctuations for population ...
