What No Research Means: The Problematic of Time and Possibilities for Expansiveness in Interpretive Literacy Research

open access: yesReading Research Quarterly, Volume 61, Issue 3, July/August/September 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines what becomes possible for interpretive literacy research when time is treated not as a neutral backdrop but as a central problematic. We argue that research does not merely trace temporal sequences; it actively creates temporalities that shape what becomes sensible, thinkable, and sayable within literacy studies.

Turbulent Airflow and Thermal Analysis in a Circular Tube Heat Exchanger Fitted With Turbulence-Inducing Vortex Generators (X-V Baffles)

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering
The research presents an investigation into airflow configuration, thermal behavior, and convective heat transfer enhancement in a circular heat exchanger tube fitted with turbulence generators. These turbulence generators, referred to in this study as X-

F IS FOR FALCON: THE TRUE STORY OF THE ‘NOVELLE’

open access: yesGerman Life and Letters, Volume 79, Issue 3, Page 311-322, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This article takes a closer look at the Boccaccio story upon which Paul Heyse based his famous ‘Falken‐Theorie’ of the ‘Novelle’. The essay then links Boccaccio to a general account of storytelling as an aid to survival amid the hostility of nature and human circumstances.

Energy‐Efficient Combustion Technologies and Burner Designs for Glass Melting Furnaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Glass Science, Volume 17, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Glass production is one of the most energy‑intensive manufacturing processes, requiring furnace temperatures above 1600°C. These temperatures depend on burners that must balance thermal efficiency with emission reductions. This article reviews the development of combustion systems in glass furnaces, focusing on their impact on energy ...

Long‐Lived Anticyclonic Eddies Facilitate Convection in the Greenland Sea Over Multiple Consecutive Winters

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract Wintertime open‐ocean convection is a key process in renewing deep water; however, the processes that promote convection on local scale remain poorly understood. We investigate the role of long‐lived anticyclonic eddies in facilitating deep convection in the Greenland Sea using a new model simulation and observations.

The Lifecycle of Tracer Variance in the North Atlantic

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Oceanic tracer distributions are shaped by turbulent mixing, which may be understood via a tracer variance budget. There is a tracer variance lifecycle: variance production by turbulent flows stirring large‐scale gradients, redistribution by currents, and variance dissipation by molecular diffusion.

Wall effects in particle-laden flows

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this study is to investigate about the complex phenomenology associated with the interaction of a particle-laden turbulent flow with the slag-covered wall of an entrained-flow gasifier.

Investigation of the swirling flow characteristics in a conical diffuser

open access: yes, 2001
This paper deals with the phenomenon of swirling flows in a straight conical diffuser induced by the axial fan impeller, Numerous experiments for various swirling flows defined by the Re-number, the swirling flow parameter Omega(0) or S-0 and the ...

A Definition of swirl function and identification of swirling flow

open access: yes, 2008
A method of identification of swirling flow (vortex) with definition of swirl function is presented. In fluid motion, eigenvalue of velocity gradient tensor classifies flow characteristic, and a complex (conjugate) eigenvalue indicates that flow is ...
