Obtaining Expressions for Time-Dependent Functions That Describe the Unsteady Properties of Swirling Jets of Viscous Fluid

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Previously, it has been shown that the dynamic geometric configuration of the flow channel of the left heart and aorta corresponds to the direction of the streamlines of swirling flow, which can be described using the exact solution of the Navier–Stokes ...

On Flow Reversal in Turbulent Swirling Flow

open access: yesJournal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2003
Summary: A turbulent swirling flow is studied with the aid of a variational method. The mean-flow field is expressed by the mean vorticity proportional to its curl. The total axial flux and total helicity per unit length are introduced to characterize the swirling flow, and the condition for the reversal of the axial flow near the center of flow is ...

Combustion in swirling flows: A review

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 1974
Melting and burning of suspended alkane droplets are studied experimentally under electric field. It is found that the melting rate substantially decreases if electric field strength exceeds some critical value. It is about 60 kV/m under our experimental conditions.

The influence of the last stage blades swirl to the efficiency of «stage-diffuser» unit of stationary GTU

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2021
THE PURPOSE. Determination of the optimal law of swirling of the blades of the last stage of a stationary GTU. Due to the specificity of its operating conditions - in a system with a diffuser - the traditional laws of swirling lead to a non-optimal flow ...

Stochastic Chaos in a Turbulent Swirling Flow [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2017
We report the experimental evidence of the existence of a random attractor in a fully developed turbulent swirling flow. By defining a global observable which tracks the asymmetry in the flux of angular momentum imparted to the flow, we can first reconstruct the associated turbulent attractor and then follow its route towards chaos.

The Model Analysis of Inclusion Moving in the Swirl Flow Zone Sourcing from the Inner-Swirl-Type Turbulence Controller in Tundish

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2017
In order to improve the inclusion removal property of the tundish, the mathematic model for simulation of the flow field sourced from inner-swirl-type turbulence controller (ISTTC) was developed, in which there were six blades arranged with an eccentric ...

Distribution of motion scales of vortices in turbulent open channel flow

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2015
To understand the distribution of motion scales of vortices in turbulent open channel flow along water depth. A flume experiment system based on high-resolution particle image velocimetry(PIV) was applied to measure fully developed turbulent open channel
