Discharge coefficient of effervescent atomizers with the swirl motion phenomenon
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2016Abstract The results of the experimental studies on the atomization process using the effervescent atomizers with the swirl motion flow are presented. A detailed analysis of the effect of the shape of the atomizer on the pressure drops and the discharge coefficient was performed.

Unified Framework for Modeling Swirl Dominated Helical Motions
50th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference, 2014In this article, the fundamental characteristics of swirl dominated motions are examined in the context of both external and internal flows, single and two-cell vortices, as well as unidirectional and multidirectional configurations. Our coverage begins with the single cell Rankine, Lamb-Oseen, and Burgers-Rott solutions, evolves into the two-cell ...

On the effect of swirling motion of sources on subsonic jet noise
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1973This paper is a theoretical study of the effect of swirling motion of sources on the overall sound radiation from a subsonic jet. The general result for the sound field of a point acoustic stress in arbitrary motion is first applied to study the effect of uniform circular source motion on the far-field sound radiation from a randomly orientated point ...

Fiber spiral motion in a swirl die melt-blowing process
Fibers and Polymers, 2014Melt blowing is a major process for producing nanofibrous nonwovens. Compared to another technology for producing nanofibrous nonwovens, electrospinning, melt blowing applies high-speed air flow field to attenuate the extruded polymer jet. It is known that the essential electrospinning mechanism is a rapidly whipping jet in an electric field.

Characterisation of Barrel Swirl Motion Under Steady Flow Conditions
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1995<div class="htmlview paragraph">The purpose of this paper is to characterise the flow field through the inlet valves, and tumble to swirl conversion tube of a steady state flow rig using HWA. LDA and CFD techniques. Three cylinder head configurations were developed which were found to produce three levels of barrel swirl motion.
